Try mixing a little bit chicken, beef, or turkey baby food into his kibbles. When I worked in a boarding kennel and we couldn’t get the picky dogs to eat, that usually did the trick!
Thanks! I’m a little weary of eggs just because I don’t want him to pick them out and not eat the kibble, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind. My own dogs LOVE the occasional egg treat! I might try the baby food, I don’t think he’ll be able to pick it off like he would canned food.
Poor Mason in down to 7 lbs, should be more like 9 or 10 lbs. Problem is, he’s super picky and just picks at his food. I don’t want to give him canned food since it took a long time to get him used to dry food. I think I’m going to buy a bag of puppy food tomorrow to mix into his food, but I’m open to advice if anyone has it!
Today, Cincinnati City Council voted 8-1 to officially repeal the breed-specific language in Cincinnati’s vicious dog ordinance, which previously made ownership of pit bulls within city limits illegal.
I love dogs too, at the weekends we take dogs out from the local Dog Rescue centre , Rosedene and give them walks. On Sunday I posted a poem about old dogs being left unwanted at dog shelters, it was on the wall at the shelter and no one knows where it came from. The biggest problem here in the UK is Staffys , people give these lovely dogs a bad reputation, so the centre is full of them. Scroll through my blog for pics of the dogs and re blog if you want to.
Sorry, I totally forgot to answer this!
Glad to hear you volunteer- the one thing most rescues need most is volunteers and fosters! Any thing that even resembles a bully breed is the biggest “problem” pretty much everywhere, unfortunately. They’re the most euthanized and hardest to adopt out.
I was walking along the beach today when I saw a couple walking with three small animals. “What kind of dog is that?!” I think to myself, and then realize “Oh my god, they’re ferrets!” We stopped and talked to the couple, the man said it was the ferrets’ first trip to the beach and they were very excited.
