The vague description of pit bulls in the legislation — which speaks of broad shoulders, short hair and a wide forehead — would apply to most of the male members of the legislature, said New Democrat Cheri DiNovo, a co-sponsor of Hillier’s bill.
In addition to Ohio lifting its pit bull laws, Mt. Clemens, Michigan has lifted their pit bull ordinance as well! The ordinance, that required all pit bull-type dogs to be muzzled on a 4 ft or shorter leash in public and in a 6 ft kennel if outside on their own, was lifted by a vote of 5 to 1.
As much as you love dogs, the honest truth is that in some cases, it does matter where or how a dog was raised. My girlfriend had a coonhound who was abused and was never the same. He hated loud noises, ran away from new comers and hid away, cry if she was ever alone, and bite when being picked up. There are just those cases where it actually happens... I'd personally say there is a 50/50 on that.
Sure, a dog’s past can effect him, but does that mean that no one should ever adopt a coonhound? No. Maybe that one dog was scarred for life, or maybe he just needed more socialization or another living situation. I don’t know, I don’t know the full story.
I’ve worked with hundreds of rescued dogs, mostly strays, and the vast majority are loving, well balanced dogs. The phrase “it’s how you raise them” gives the impression that adult dogs cannot be “fixed” if they’ve had a rough past.
I really hate the "it's how they're raised" excuse.
Rescued pit bulls make awesome dogs, too. Even dogs pulled from fighting rings can be total lovers. If you treat a dog mean, it’s going to treat you mean; treat a dog nice, and he’ll love you forever, it doesn’t matter what breed.
finally gave in and took a pain killer for my arthritis since it’s getting to the point that I can’t function, and it’s making me so sick. I swear my stomach can’t handle anything. So much for finishing my art project, gahhh
Hey im about to make a valentine thing for houston that melinda asked for & I was wondering should I just make a paper to sit on top of the crate? & do you have any good pictures of him?
Something small to put on the crate would probably be best, Melinda already has trouble finding room for the zillion other posters she tries to set up at the events, lol. I got a couple pictures of him a few weeks ago, I’ll just post them on here real quick
